We are seeing a lot of new route announcements in Canada these days, and our own flagship, Air Canada, has started trending with new seasonal routes in Asia just in time for winter 2023.

Of course, these can be booked at airplane points, so let’s take a look at the possibilities.

Air Canada’s new Asia route

The beginning December 1, 2022, Air Canada will operate direct flights from Vancouver to Bangkok.

On Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, the flight will fly in both directions, where it will depart from Vancouver on Monday and inward from Bangkok on Tuesday.

The planned schedule is as follows:

  • The AC65 from Vancouver (YVR) to Bangkok (BKK) will depart at 11:00 pm and arrive two days later at 5:55 pm
  • AC66 Bangkok (BKK) to Vancouver (YVR), departs at 8:30 a.m. and arrives at 6:35 p.m.

This is an exciting new route that represents the only direct flight from North America to Thailand and is set to run seasonally from early December to mid-April.

In addition, Air Canada will resume flights from Toronto to Mumbai October 29, 2022 As a seasonal flight until March 24, 2022. It will be a daily flight on both sides, with a technical stop at London Heathrow on both sides.

The planned schedule is as follows:

  • AC856 will depart Toronto (YYZ) to Mumbai (BOM) at 9:30 pm and arrive two days later at 1:25 pm
  • AC855 Mumbai (BOM) to Toronto (YYZ), departs at 4:45 am and arrives at 3:55 pm

(This is an extension of Air Canada’s existing Toronto-London non-stop services, although Air Canada does not have a fifth-degree right to fly passengers between London and Mumbai exclusively.)

At the same time, Air Canada will increase capacity on all South Pacific routes from Vancouver to Auckland, Brisbane and Sydney.

Air Canada New Asia Flight Booking

AirPlan is naturally the preferred program for booking this new route due to the program’s access to every last seat on an Air Canada flight.

From Vancouver, Bangkok falls in the second distance band of 5,001–7,500 miles on Aeroplan’s North America-Pacific Awards chart.

Thus, a direct flight at the lowest dynamic level would cost 75,000 airplane points In business class.

These flights are already loaded and bookable, so we were able to get an idea of Air Canada’s dynamic pricing at launch.

Unfortunately, in business class, Vancouver-Bangkok flights do not reveal any “saver” availability at lower levels, and all bookings are currently priced at a one-way dynamic level of 248,000 points.

In economy class, prices are more reasonable 44,000 points One-way in the standard rental section and 65,000 points At Latitude, however, there is currently zero eUpgrade space across the board, so those hoping to use the “Latitude Attitude” strategy to upgrade to business class should stop.

Looking at the Mumbai flight, we will see the North America-Atlantic Zone Awards chart.

Direct flights from Toronto to Mumbai fall on the 7,501-11,000 mile chart, which will cost 85,000 points One-way in business class.

Unfortunately, there is no availability of business class on this flight at low dynamic level, as it starts at 251,700 one way. Economy class prize place begins 80,000 points One-way, although zero eUpgrade (R) space seems to be available throughout the calendar.

The lack of attractive options for booking any of the new Air Canada flights in business class at Airplane Points is undoubtedly quite disappointing, and perhaps it should prove to be a popular route reflecting Air Canada’s confidence in selling premium seats in cash.

If these predictions don’t work out, I’m hopeful that we’ll see some dynamic rewards at lower levels or that we’ll see e-upgrade availability as autumn and winter go by.

Otherwise, Aeroplan’s 45+ partners continue to offer a variety of style travel in Thailand and India, although there are a few connections along the way.

How useful are Air Canada’s new flights?

Both new flights will be operated by Air Canada’s Boeing 787 Dreamliner, Air Canada’s newest and best aircraft with the best iteration of their business class “Pod”.

All Air Canada Dreamliners have a 1-2-1 reverse herringbone configuration, with the window seats facing the window and the middle seats facing the center.

Single window seats are the best choice for single travelers, when couples may choose to sit in the middle seat (keep in mind that the middle divider does not come down at all, so some couples may prefer two window seats instead).

In terms of onboard service, Air Canada’s onboard catering on international flights can be a hit-or-miss, but most of the time it stays pretty good.

Air Canada Business Class Food & Beverage

Comparing Air Canada to their Star Alliance partners who fly to Bangkok, Eva Air will be their main competitor and I will probably choose Eva Air for improved comfort and soft products.

In fact, Eva Air will be the choice for many Canadians on the East Coast who will be able to make one-stop connections to Eva Air from Toronto via Taipei to Bangkok, as well as one-stop connections to Air Canada via Vancouver.

But for those on the West Coast, it’s hard to miss the convenience of a direct flight to Bangkok, without the risk of missing a connection – especially since travel is growing faster than ever before and airports are becoming the norm around the world.

The same argument applies to Mumbai, though there are further caveats: Toronto-based travelers may not be inclined to this direct flight, as there will be technical stops in London anyway.

There are plenty of other one-stop options to choose from between Toronto and Mumbai, and at a more favorable reward rate, Air Canada should be firmly attached to the prize space.

Air Canada has announced a set of two new direct flights to Asia for the winter 2023 season, including a four-hour weekly Vancouver-Bangkok service and a daily Toronto-Mumbai service with stops at London Heathrow.

With a powerful onboard product in the signature class on the Boeing 787, Bangkok’s new direct flight (the only such service in North America) will make it quite a popular option for Asia-bound travelers in the winter.

From Toronto, the new flight to Mumbai will still be a convenient option in India’s largest city, despite the short stops in London. Fingers crossed that we will see more rewards and upgrade spaces on these two flights as we approach their launch date.

Oman Air OneWorld will join the alliance by 2024, bringing the color and flavor of Oman to more travelers as they take the lead in joining a global airline alliance.

Since the Airlines Alliance allows its member airlines to redeem all mileage programs on all partner airlines, we use the Oneworld Mileage currency to book Oman, including the likes of British Airways Avios, Cathay Pacific Asia Miles and Alaska Mileage Plan. .

Oman Air: New OneWorld Member Airline

Oman Air has expressed its desire to rejoin OneWorld in September 2021, so this announcement is not surprising.

For the price of it, the airline’s entry into OneWorld is expected to be held by 2024, which is still a decent way away. As such, it looks like it’s looking forward to the future, as we look to potential mileage redemption avenues ahead.

Oman Air’s long-haul flights spread across Europe and Southeast Asia, to London and Manila. They do not operate any flights to North America.

Technically, Oman Air is not adding a significant number of new destinations to OneWorld, due to the airline’s already strong coverage in the region, along with Qatar Airways and Royal Jordanian. However, Oman Air brings much more frequent connections to complement its Middle Eastern counterparts.

Although, say, Qatar Airways Quechua is a truly spectacular product, Oman Air offers itself a strong first class and business class product and I would be happy to fly again.

Oman Air First Class

In business class, Oman Air operates the Apex Suite, which is similar to the flagship product of Japan Airlines. 2-2-2 Seats may not be competitive, but window seats with privacy are incomparable.

Meanwhile, in first class, Oman Air’s Boeing 787 Dreamliner has a 1-2-1 configuration, complete with sliding doors, pajamas and caviar.

Finally, we cannot ignore their lounge offers at Muscat’s Home Base, including dining at La Carte in the Oman Air First Class Lounge and bedrooms and sleeping rooms in the Oman Air Business Class Lounge.

Oman Air First Class Lounge Muscat

New OneWorld Redemption in Oman Air

In 2024, we will be able to redeem OneWorld Mileage currencies like Oman Air, British Airways Avios and Cathay Pacific Asia Miles. Considering the ease of earning both currencies in Canada, it is worth looking at how to take advantage of both programs to travel to Oman national carriers.

British Airways Avios uses a distance-based award chart so that it works well for most of Oman Air’s domestic routes, Gulf routes and the Indian subcontinent, representing most of their flights.

All domestic flights, Bahrain, UAE and Karachi, Pakistan fall within the shortest Avios mileage band of 0-650 miles. Based on current Avios pricing conventions, these flights will only cost 6,000 Avios One-way in economy class or 12,500 Avios In business class.

Another mileage band and it will still cost a pretty good deal, Kuwait, Riyadh, the rest of Pakistan and West India 9,000 Avios One-way in economy class or 16,500 Avios In business class.

Regarding Oman Air’s long distance network, you will notice that Istanbul, Bangkok and all of Tanzania fall below 3,000 miles. Based on the current Avios pricing, there will be a charge for these 13,000 Avios In economy class and 38,750 Avios In business class.

With Kuala Lumpur and Jakarta, the whole of Europe will surpass one mileage band, pricing 20,750 Avios In economy class and 62,000 Avios In business class, respectively.

Another proposal is to use Asia Miles, which also manages a distance-based rewards chart. A flight from one of Muscat’s long-haul destinations will cost the same level 61,000 Asia Miles.

Asia Miles would be a more favorable program for any connecting journey, as it calculates the number of points required using total incremental distances (and not the sum of individual parts like Avios).

For example, a one-way business class flight from London-Muscat-Hyderabad flies 4,992 miles, which falls just below the upper limit of the “medium” distance band of Asia Miles and thus costs the same. 61,000 Asia Miles Only Muscat as a flight.

Lastly, don’t forget the effects OneWorld multi-career chart For both Avios and Asia Miles. New possibilities should be added for planning multi-stop trips around the world at favorable rates for the relatively short distances of Oman Air flights.

In terms of award availability, Oman Air is very consistent with the award space, usually offering one first class seat and two business class seats on each flight.

And finally, there is no news of Oman Air’s current partnership with Aeroplan, but I personally do not expect that this partnership will change after Oman Air joins Oneworld in 2024.

After all, while cross-alliance airline partnerships are unusual, they exist here and there, such as we can redeem airplane points on selected Cathay Pacific routes or redeem Alaska miles on Singapore Airlines flights.

Oman Air will become the 14th OneWorld member airline when they officially join the alliance by 2024. I hope to see more details about the transformation in the next few years.

OneWorld has been rapidly increasing its membership following the addition of Alaska Airlines and Royal Air Maroc in recent years, increasing the value of the miles we hold within their alliance as the alliance expands its range of products and destinations.

Although Oman Air does not fly to North America, the airline provides useful additional connections to the Middle East, from where it is very easy to catch flights to almost anywhere.

World of Hyatt is fast emerging as an attractive alternative to the Marriott Forest Fear and Hilton Honors Hotel Loyalty program.

They recently announced their recent promotion on purchased points, a valuable way for members to balance their points and book hotels. This can be a great deal, especially if you want to enjoy your globalist status as often as possible.

Buy World of Hyatt points with 30% bonus

The World of Hyatt is offering bonuses on point purchases August 1, 2022. If you buy at least 5,000 points you will get 30% bonus.

Typically, Hyatt charges 2.4 cents per point (USD) to buy points. With this 30% bonus, the rate is reduced 1.85 cents per point (USD).

This is a fairly competitive price where the world of Hyatt points, buy a shade over Our current assessment 1.5 cents per point (USD).

How many World of Hyatt points can you buy?

World of Hyatt imposes a limit of 55,000 points purchased per calendar year.

When they have a promotion for extra points, such as the current 30% bonus, those points are not counted in the annual limit. (Note that World of Hyatt refers to all purchased points as bonus points.)

If you make the most of this promotion, it will cost ৷ For US 1,320 71,500 Hyatt points.

Purchase points will be credited to your account within 48 hours.

Which credit card should you use to buy World of Hyatt Points?

World of Hyatt sells points through Points.com, an external retailer. These are not considered travel purchases, and there are no additional benefits to using Chase’s US-issued personal or business World of Hyatt credit cards.

Instead, I’d recommend any card with a high base earning rate, or one where you’re working to meet the minimum spending requirement.

Specifically, any US credit card will. Because if your billing address is in Canada, you will be charged Canadian sales tax.

So, even a Canadian-issued credit card without a foreign transaction fee would be a bad choice – even if you still don’t have a US credit card, it’s still your best option.

Who should buy Hayat Point World?

Intelligent travelers will be able to find valuable pockets at both the top and bottom of the World of Hyatt hotel portfolio.

However, earning a World of Hyatt point is not easy for Canadians. Hyatt’s only co-branded credit cards are in the United States, and it’s a bit of a process for Canadians to get US credit cards with Chase. Therefore, you may be inspired to look for other ways to earn points, such as buying them directly, assuming the price is right.

High-priced aspiring hotel

The World of Hyatt program has many exciting hotel brands and features that provide an exceptionally unique travel experience.

Ricky recently visited Calala Island, a private island in Nicaragua with only four villas. For an all-inclusive stay your room covers two, food, drinks, activities and round-trip planes and boat transfers to and from the island.

Calala Island Nicaragua

It is a member of Small Luxury Hotels of the World, which has a marketing partnership with Hyatt Hotels & Resorts. Members of World of Hyatt can stay in small luxury hotels for 35,000-45,000 points per night.

Cash value astronomers, starting at US $ 2,350 per night and reaching US $ 3,650 on the maximum date.

Instead of booking points, you will bring this exclusive experience within reach. You will get an offensive price of 6-9 cents per point (USD), Above our nominal assessment of the Hyatt point.

With the current bonus of buying points, it will cost you US $ 744 to buy 40,000 points for a typical night on Calala Island – a screaming deal compared to the room’s cash rate.

Of course, you’ll want to make sure that you line up the availability of rewards at the hotel before you pull the trigger to buy points, especially for small luxury hotels, which limit the number of rooms that can be booked at points.

Hyatt’s own portfolio includes some dilapidated resorts, even in the United States. For example, you could book a night at Alila Ventana Big Sur for 56,000-66,000 points on the new award chart for the suite, or US $ 2,400 for the same room.

Purchasing points is definitely a good deal, as with the current promotion it will only cost up to US $ 1,108 per night.

You’ll find the same value in Hawaii, where you can redeem prizes in high-end Category 7 properties for more than 5 cents per point (USD).

Lower-class hotels with higher cash rates

The Hyatt brand has particularly strong footprints across the United States. In particular, find hotels in popular small-town leisure destinations.

For my next trip to the American Southwest, I keep an eye on Hayat. Southern Utah lacks housing, often not enough to meet demand during the tourist season.

As a result, the cash value can be over US $ 300 per night, which in my opinion is an easy place to rest after a long day of adventure when you need to be extraordinarily steep.

When Hayat Place Moab Recently moved to Category 4, even at 15,000 points the standard night is still a strong redemption at 2 cents per point (USD).

In this case, it would be perfectly understandable to buy Hyatt Points. With the current 30% bonus, at a rate of 1.85 US cents per point, an off-peak night will cost around US $ 220 or US $ 275 for a standard night, which is less than the cost of direct cash payments.

Consider the Spirit Ridge Resort Osoyus for an Okanagan winery trip, for an option a little closer to home and with more property benefits. Also a Category 4 property will cost up to 18,000 points per night on a maximum date compared to the মূল্য 400 (CAD) cash value in the summer.

Spirit Ridge Resort Osoyos, Unbound Collection

It is always worth checking the prices on your travel dates. As long as your redemption price is above the acquisition cost of points, you will be ahead in any booking.

The only reason I don’t do this is if I save my World of Hyatt points for more valuable redemption. There aren’t many ways to earn Hyatt points, so you may want to keep them for exclusive opportunities and pay cash elsewhere.

Other Ways to Earn Hyatt Points World

Although the value of World of Hyatt points is more reliable than that of its competitors, it is always a risky proposition to buy points if you do not plan to book immediately.

In fact, with the recent news of the devaluation of the Marriott Forest, the World of Hyatt is the only major hotel program that will continue to publish an awards chart in 2022. However, they have recently set off-peak and maximum prices, which could be a sign that further changes may occur in the coming years.

If you prefer to build up your balance slowly for a big redemption down the road, I’d recommend looking at other earning methods first.

US credit card by Chase

Chase south of the border, Chase issues two co-branded World of Hyatt Visa cards:

  • World of Hyatt Credit Card: Make money Up to 60,000 worlds at Hyatt Point Spend US $ 3,000–15,000 for the first three to six months, with an annual fee of US $ 95.
  • World of Hyatt Business Credit Card: Make money 60,000 World of Hyatt points Spend US $ 5,000 in the first three months, with an annual fee of US $ 199.

In addition, with a personal card, you can win up to two Free Night Awards for 1-4 class hotels each year:

  • Starting your second year, earn a Free Night Prize on your card anniversary
  • Also, earn an additional Free Night Reward by spending US $ 15,000 in a calendar year

In addition to the co-branded World of Hyatt card, Chase Ultimate Rewards Points can be transferred to 1: 1 World of Hyatt. You can win these awards at any of the Chase Sapphire products:

  • Chase Sapphire Reserve: Make money 60,000 final prize points Spend US $ 4,000 in the first three months, with an annual fee of US $ 550 (offset by a US $ 300 annual travel credit).
  • Chase Sapphire Preferences: Make money 60,000 final prize points Spend US $ 4,000 in the first three months, with an annual fee of US $ 95 (offset by a US $ 50 annual travel credit).
  • Chase Inc. Business Preferences: Make money 100,000 final prize points Spend US $ 15,000 in the first three months, with an annual fee of US $ 95.

If you have one of the above cards, you can turn your cash-back rewards from some other chase cards into Ultimate Rewards, including their Freedom Lineup.

These credit cards are definitely a great way to get value out of the World of Hyatt program as you delve deeper into the US credit card game.

US credit cards for Canadians

Multi-player mode: Pool point within the family

You can combine points from multiple accounts. However, if you want to quickly-track the balance of your life, there are a few key precautions to be aware of:

  • You must be a member for at least 60 days before purchasing points.
  • You can only transfer points “to get enough points to redeem a certain reward”.
  • You can only collect points, whether sent or received, once every 30 days.
  • Point transfer is a slow process under human supervision, and you need to fill out a request form.

Because of these limitations, in general I would not recommend relying on the World of Hyatt Pool Pool. However, the option is available and may be effective in selected situations if you run out of points before booking.

Previous promotion

Whether you’re deciding if this promotion is a good opportunity for you to meet your travel goals, look back at previous promotions to last year’s World of Hyatt purchase points:

World of Hyatt is offering a strong promotion at the point of purchase with the heat of revenge travel. With a 30% bonus, you can effectively buy at a rate of 1.85 cents per point (USD).

While I don’t usually recommend immediate redemption or speculative buying points without a long-term plan, I would consider this opportunity somewhat, as the World of Hyatt program has a strong track record of pricing where its peers have failed.

Make sure you buy World of Hyatt Points in advance August 1, 2022 Take advantage of this offer if you are interested.

With the announcement that Sobeys will soon be dumping their long-term partnership with Air Miles, I was wondering if there was any gas left in the Air Miles program’s proverbial tank.

Looks like Air Miles has at least a few strategies in its sleeve and it has decided to double its partnership with BMO, resulting in the highest offer of all time. 5,000 Bonus Air Miles BMO Air Miles World Elite on MasterCard.

BMO Air Miles Welcome Bonus

Bank of Montreal has traditionally been one of the most consistent Air Miles loyalty partners. While big names like LCBO have moved to Aeroplan, and the Sobeys family mentioned above at the grocery store will move to Scene +, BMO will remain stationed at Air Miles Camp.

(Perhaps this is because both feel somewhat embarrassed in their ongoing struggle for relevance and beyond their depth.)

So it’s a breath of fresh air that, in the end, BMO Air Miles is offering a signup bonus on co-branded credit cards, one of the most competitive among Canadian credit cards.

With this special link, you can find BMO Air Miles MasterCard and BMO Air Miles World Elite MasterCard above and beyond through a simple Google search.

As part of their “standard” welcome bonus, the initial no-fee card will net you 1,500 air miles if you spend $ 1,500 in the first three months, valued at 7 157.50 as pure cash prizes on petrol in partner chains like Metro Chain or Shell. .

Meanwhile, World Elite comes with an annual fee waiver (savings of $ 120) after spending $ 3,000 in the first three months, and a hefty 3,000 bonus Air Miles worth $ 315.

Highest ever: 2,000 Bonus Air Miles!

To quote the late great Billy Mess: “But wait, there’s more!”

Get your approval using this link before June 24, 2022 and you may be eligible for additional bonuses 2,000 air miles – Price আরও 210 more!

All you have to do is use your new BMO Air Miles MasterCard at participating Ontario metro locations – or use Metro’s online grocery services. Once you complete this transaction, you will receive your additional 2,000 air miles.

This basic BMO Air Miles gives MasterCard a welcome bonus of a total of 3,500 Air Miles (valued at $ 367.50), while the World Elite Edition offers a total of 5,000 Air Miles (valued at $ 525)!

Of course, to take full advantage of this offer, you have to August 7, 2022 To make your eligible purchase. I wouldn’t be too worried, as there seems to be a metro in every corner of my local Toronto.

Even if you haven’t been to GTA or Ontario yourself, this might be a good time for Metro order pickers to buy a box of chocolates or arrange a little something for a local food bank.

The possibilities are endless, and it is assumed that you do not want to immediately shower a friend or family in Ontario with generosity.

What’s left of the price at Air Miles?

So far, I’ve mentioned the value of the Air Miles cash prize because it advertises the BMO itself. To me, it denies an absolute recognition from the BMO and the Air Miles program as a whole that the real purpose of Air Miles as a reward for loyalty to “fly free” is now obsolete.

Quick Recap: There are two types of Air Miles points that you can choose to collect. On the one hand, there are cash prizes in BMO’s marketing materials, which offer a price of $ 10 per 95 air miles (equivalent to .5 10.5 per air mile) when redeemed at partner brands like Metro.

On the other hand, there are Dream Rewards, which can be theoretically redeemed for merchandise, travel experiences such as Disney Park tickets or flights.

When one considers our recent analysis of Air Miles as a travel currency, you will notice that flying somewhere requires a much larger amount of points and this type of redemption often comes with a hefty fuel surcharge for booting.

So: Is it worth taking the BMO offer? I think so of course – if you stick to the cash rewards of things.

Don’t get me wrong, it’s not impossible to redeem your Air Miles for a Disney Park pass or even something as silly as merchandise, but the best and easiest way to price is the cash prizes that BMO itself advertises so much.

BMO and Air Miles have a limited time welcome offer that gives you an additional 2,000 Air Miles on top of the standard bonus after shopping at Metro grocery stores in Ontario or online.

Factoring in limited time bonuses, means you can earn a total of 5,000 Air Miles on BMO Air Miles World Elite MasterCard, representing a simple $ 525 value. Confirm the application through the link dedicated by June 24, 2022.

It’s great to see another high welcome bonus that can be earned for relatively little hard work. At the same time, I can’t help but feel that we may not be able to enjoy a limited edition of the Air Miles program for long.

The number of clients of the company decreases every quarter, so how long will it take before Air Miles collectors can easily find vacancies?

Until the next time, earn and burn your Air Miles faster than losing their partners.

Air Canada was the first to launch their interline agreement with the Mexican regional airline Aroma In the spring of 2022.

To date, the two airlines have taken their relationship to the next level and this is now possible Earn and redeem airplane points on Aroma flights.

As a small airline based in Mexico City, Aroma will serve as a great connection hub for airplane members who want to fly to smaller Mexican destinations outside of Puerto Vallarta and Cancun’s choice.

Rhythm Aeroplan Point at Aeromar

Like all other partner redemption, Aeroplan redemption at Aeromar will follow the following principles:

  • Aeromar flights will be priced based on Aeroplan’s flight reward chart.
  • Members can book Air Mauritius flights online and by phone.
  • Aeromar flights may be combined with flights operated by Air Canada and other international airline partners.
  • A $ 39 partner booking fee will apply.

Aeromar flights are already fully online and bookable on Aeroplan search engines, with fair amounts available in economy class.

Aeromar Destination

Let’s take a look at some of the new Aeromar routes for which we are able to redeem. The route map of Aroma is as follows, with extensive destinations in Mexico, Guatemala, Cuba and the US state of Texas:

(The color of the lines doesn’t matter, because they represent which one is operated by Aroma and which one is operated by subsidiaries. The experience will be basically the same.)

The new Aeromar partnership adds a new level of flexibility to planning a full-fledged trip to Mexico. Currently, Air Canada only serves a few cities in Mexico. Although United Airlines offers many more services, the prize space is not the easiest to come by.

The option to redeem Aeroplan points at Aeromar adds new one-stop possibilities from Canada, such as Villahermosa (VSA), Colima (CLQ), and Ixtepec (IZT).

Here is the airplane award chart for flights to North America as a refresher:

For any flight in Aeromar only Aeromar will cost only 6,000 Aeroplan points in Economy class if the distance is less than 500 miles, and 10,000 Aeroplan points in Economy class if the distance is less than 1,500 miles.

Most flights fall under the first-distance band, while a few individual flights, such as Mexico City (MEX) – Piedras Negras (PDS), fall into the larger band, as most connections will be through the Mexican capital.

The connections between North America where the Aroma partnership is really brilliant. A direct flight from Air Canada via Mexico City will fly below most of the Aroma network below 2,750 miles, which means it will start. 12,500 points One-way in economy class or 25,000 points One-way in business class.

And while you may think that airplane stopovers are not allowed in Canada and the United States, they are very much allowed in Mexico.

So you can fly to Cancun, relax on the beach for a few days and then go to Guatemala. This will start routing 12,500 points In economy class or 25,000 points In Business Class, plus an additional 5,000 points for a stopover.

How is Aeromar’s onboard product?

As you might expect from an airline with most internal route networks, Aroma flies a total of 10 aircraft of two types: ATR 42-600 and ATR 72-600.

These are small, slender-bodied turboprops. Therefore, Aeromar only works in economy class; However, on larger regional planes with 2-2 seating arrangements instead of 3-3 you will find them decently comfortable.

Aroma Economy Class

On another note, I hope the service will be live onboard once – just look at the home page of the Aeromar website.

The steady addition of Airplane and Air Canada’s new partners is a breath of fresh air compared to other frequent flyer programs.

After building a strong list of partner airlines in 2021, the program is now the first to enter Mexico with a new Aeromar partnership.

While this partnership may not be as sexy as Oman Air’s 787 First Class or Gulf Air’s Apex Suites, it does provide the basics by expanding the program’s overall range of accessible destinations.

As it is very close to home, Mexico is a very popular destination among Canadians, and I hope the prize redemption at Aeromar will be quite popular now that it is live.

Airplane Points is one of the most easily accessible point programs in Canada, due to the wide range of bonuses and promotions offered by the program.

In addition to credit card welcome bonuses and point transfers from banks and hotel partners, the Aeroplan eStore is one of the many ways to earn Aeroplan points, especially during one of the frequent eStore bonus events.

Airplane Fathers Day Event: Up to 5x points until June 19th

When shopping through the AirPlan eStore, the standard earning rate is tax and 1 airplane point per dollar spent before shipping.

With the recent Istor campaign for Father’s Day, Airplane members will be able to earn Cost up to 5 airplane points per dollar Across all retailers.

The following retailers are offering completely improved returns of 5x Airplane Points (or in some cases, even more):

The Father’s Day event is fairly time-sensitive, as it only lasts until Father’s Day June 19, 2022.

How to use Aeroplan eStore

Airplane eStore is relatively easy to navigate. Go to the Aeroplan eStore website, and you’ll immediately see a banner with details of the current promotion. You can find the login button at the top right.

Once logged in, there are several ways you can choose to explore the eStore You can use the search bar to find what you already remember, or select the “For You” tab to see suggestions based on past searches and history.

You can browse by category or by retailers. While browsing, under individual brands, you will see the current promotion labeled red.

Each store may have discounts on which items are eligible to earn Aeroplan points, so be sure to read the fine print for your chosen retailer before completing your purchase.

Once the purchase is complete, points will be automatically added to your Airplane account; However, keep in mind that this process can take up to six to eight weeks.

To confirm that you have earned Aeroplan points from an eStore purchase, note the following:

  • You must complete your purchase during the same shopping session that you started.
  • Before completing your purchase, avoid visiting other sites before using third-party browser extensions or using coupons not provided by eStore.
  • Make sure that cookies are not disabled on your computer, as cookies are used to authenticate your sessions and to assign points to your account.

It’s a good idea to keep a record of the points you’re hoping to get and, if necessary, track the missing points on your iStore purchase date, as the iStore has historically not been completely reliable in tracking every purchase. .

If, for some reason, your points are not received within 10 weeks of your purchase being sent, you can submit a claim by visiting the Lost Points page of Aeroplan. The purchase will be verified and credited to your account if approved.

Use the Aeroplan eStore bonus for daily status qualification

Not only do eStore promotions allow you to quickly rack up Aeroplan points, they can also go a long way towards achieving Aeroplan Elite status through daily status qualification.

As part of the Daily Status Qualification feature, members typically need to earn 100,000 airplane points through a qualified source within the calendar year to qualify for entry-level airplane 25K status.

“Eligible sources” include credit card costs, eStore bonuses, and flying activity, but exclude “easy” earning methods such as credit card welcome bonuses and point transfers from other programs.

At first glance, the requirement to earn 100,000 Airoplan points may seem daunting, as it is consistent with spending $ 100,000 per year earning 1x Aeroplan points on an eStore or co-branded credit card.

However, consider the current eStore promotion up to 5x airplane points for Father’s Day. That will only allow you to spend $ 20,000 Qualify through eStore and for daily status qualification.

In addition, if you use a premium airplane credit card to earn 1.25x points to pay for your purchase, that amount is only reduced. 16,000

(Of course, you don’t have to reach the 100,000-point threshold at once. Instead, limited-time bonus events like the current Mother’s Day promotion are a great way to make integrated progress towards daily status eligibility throughout the year. Your organic purchase.)

Current Father’s Day bonuses only last until June 19, 2022, We’ll see similar offers in the future, with offers up to 10x points at annual shopping events like Black Friday.

US-issued American Express small business cards show some mind-blowing welcome bonuses:

These offers either match or exceed previous all-time highs and are initially available through a friend link made from Business Platinum cards. Let’s take a look at all the details.

Amex US Business Platinum Card: 150,000 US MR points

In the past, the Amex US Business Platinum card has historically carried a welcome bonus that was around 75,000 US MR points.

At the moment, however, the card will offer a dazzling offer 150,000 US MR points By applying through selected referral-to-friend links, but only in the first three months a laborious US $ 15,000 is spent. So the offer is only suitable for those business owners who have a high cost or have the ability to spend high.

(If a friend-friendly link doesn’t show 150,000 US MR points at first, try opening it in incognito mode or in another browser.)

Remember, since Amex US applies strict once-in-a-lifetime rules on the Welcome Bonus, the effective strategy for all Amex US cards applies only when there are historically high offers on the table.

The 150,000 US MR points on the US Business Platinum card must match that bill, so if you’ve never held this card before and are ready to dive into the high cost threshold, now is the time to do so.

150,000 US MR points will suffice for the following redemption:

US Business Platinum signup bonus will suffice for ANA first class round-trip flight

The US Business Platinum card indicates an annual fee US 695, Which is the highest annual fee among major Amex US products. This may sound scary at first glance, but the card also boasts a series of credits that can reduce the annual fee.

Every calendar year, you get US $ 200 Airline accessory fee credit and US $ 400 On Dell US credits (US $ 200 from January to June and US $ 200 from July to December). If you can maximize these credits, your net annual fee can be reduced to US $ 95.

(Loading funds at United Travel Bank is a popular way to use airline ancillary fee credits, allowing you to spend these funds on United-operated flights within five years.

If you want to consider US Business Platinum as a one year love affair, you can go a long way in the first year as opposed to the US $ 695 annual fee. By applying now, in June 2022, you can earn:

  • US $ 200 as credit for airline accessories fee for 2022
  • US $ 200 as credit for airline accessories fee for 2023
  • US $ 200 in Dell US credit in June 2022
  • US $ 200 in Dell US credit in July 2022
  • US $ 200 in Dell US credit in January 2023
  • US $ 200 in Dell US credit in July 2023

By July 2023, you will still have one month to post to your second year annual fee account, so you will be able to cancel the card without paying another US $ 695 annual fee if you wish.

This means that within a year of holding the card, you have advanced to the value of US $ 505 – above the incredible 150,000 US MR points you earn as a welcome bonus.

Amex US Business Gold Card: 130,000 US MR points

Also, the Lower-End Counterpart of US Business Platinum, the Amex US Business Gold Card, offers the best Welcome Bonus we’ve ever seen: 130,000 US MR points, The first three months cost US $ 10,000.

(Again, if a friend-friendly link doesn’t show 130,000 US MR points, open it in incognito mode or in a different browser for best results.)

While the US $ 10,000 cost requirement is still high, it is arguably one Good If the offer is more limited than your spending power compared to the Business Platinum card: the Welcome Bonus is only 20,000 US MR points less, but to earn it you have to spend US $ 5,000 less.

130,000 US MR points will suffice for ANA First Class (via Virgin Atlantic Flying Club) for a round-way flight or for the above mentioned Emirates First Class (via Emirates Skyward) one way flight, in addition to many powerful premium redemption at ANA Mileage Club, Singapore Via Pacific Asia Miles, Air France / KLM Flying Blue, etc.

The US Business Gold signup bonus will suffice for a one-way flight to Emirates First Class.

US Business Gold Card has an annual fee US 295, Except a lot of credit ways to offset fees.

Instead, the card price offer includes its unique 4x earnings rate in the US technology shopping, shipping, advertising, dining, gas and airfare segments. The 4x earnings rate applies to the two categories with the highest cost per billing statement, up to a combined US $ 150,000 per calendar year.

In particular, US Business Gold is a very popular card for those businesses that spend a lot of money on online advertising. For example, Canadian-based online retailers would do well to get US Business Gold and generate 4x US MR points for their advertising costs.

If you can’t maximize these spending categories, I would say that US Business Gold is also best suited for a one-year holding period, the main prize of which is a wonderful welcome bonus of 130,000 US MR points.

Canadians are applying for an Amex US Business Card

When Amex US Private Cards are easier for Canadians to apply for, even if they are completely new to US credit cards, the situation with Amex US is less clear. Business Cards.

In the United States, business credit cards do not report to your personal credit file, meaning that they will not be useful for creating your US credit history over time.

If you are considering getting your first US credit card, you should ideally choose a personal card to get started, so that it supports your credit history and builds up your account average age (AAoA) over time. .

Even if you want to start with a business credit card, this may not be possible. Amex US allows Canadian applicants to use Nova Credit to apply for their first US card based on their Canadian TransUnion credit profile, but this only works for personal cards, not business cards.

If you have already started your US credit card journey, you can apply for Amex US Business Platinum or Business Gold Card by inputting or applying for your Social Security Number (SSN) or Personal Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN). On the phone using a foreign passport as your documentation.

On the other hand, if you are just starting out with a US credit card, I would recommend choosing a personal card and apply through Nova Credit as the first step, and then you apply for an Amex US Business Card once. Hold your personal card for six months or more.

Amex US Business Cards has created an all-new record-breaking list, offering a few great opportunities for those of us who are involved with US credit cards to earn points.

Amex US Business Platinum Card is offering new applicants 150,000 US MR points, the largest single portion of a welcome bonus I’ve ever seen on any credit card in the United States or Canada.

Meanwhile, Amex US Business Gold Card is offering 130,000 US MR points to new applicants, which is reasonably higher than the card’s US $ 295 annual fee, and the best bonus we’ve seen in this product.

Both offers come with an expensive threshold of US $ 15,000 and US $ 10,000, respectively, so you either need to channel your actual business expenses, plan for your biggest purchase of the year, or use some creative spending strategies yourself.

What are Homes and Villas by Marriott International?

In fact, staying with Marriott Homes and Villas will earn you the elite qualification for annual Marriott Forest Fear status, so if you’re in the mood to book a vacation fare for an upcoming trip, it’s always worth checking out the Homes & Villas platform, tell Airbnb.

Book Five Night, Get Free Night Award

Marriott Homes & Villa has brought a number of promotions since its launch, none of which were particularly binding. The latest promotion, however, could certainly be worth taking a closer look at.

Members typically earn 5 base Forest Fear points per US dollar spent with Homes and Villas, so the rate will double. Costs USD 10 per point.

Keep in mind that double point promotion is limited to base points only, and does not apply to the bonus points you receive as an elite member.

A chance for a cheap free night award?

The offer can be a great opportunity to pick up a relatively inexpensive Free Night Prize with lots of low-cost home and villa properties around the world if you are traveling to a region and need a place to stay.

For example, these two bedroom properties in Recife, Brazil cost only US $ 180 for a five night stay.

If you have a US-issued Chase credit card, you can use the ongoing Chase offer to reduce this cost to US $ 80 for five nights.

Since we will be charging 0.7 cents (USD) each for Forest Fear Points, the ,000 35,000 Free Night Award, valued at 35,000 Fear Point, can be considered US $ 245, which is many times more than the cost of your accommodation (and would be a great deal even if you don’t have a chase card). ).

Cape Town has similarly cheap deals, where after you factor in a refundable security deposit and a US $ 100 chase offer, your five-night stay is close to US $ 250 – a cost that can be easily recovered by redeeming your next free night. Reward with intelligence.

Don’t forget that you won a Free Night Prize Per Homes and villas that you book under the terms of this promotion will be in homes and villas for at least five nights.

That way, you can think of extended travel destinations in Brazil or South Africa as paying for yourself in the form of future stays at Marriott hotels if you want to use this promotion wisely.

No matter what your travel plans look like, it will be worthwhile to check out the homes and villas for any upcoming trip this year to see if you can find the five-nights that work best for you and get a Free Night Award from it.

Marriott International’s Marriott vacation home rental brand, Homes & Villas, is now offering a limited-time promotion that allows you to earn double points for five consecutive nights or more, and a Free Night Award worth 35,000 Fear Points.

The new promotion could be a great opportunity to try out an unconventional Marriott experience on your 2022 trip, earn a relatively inexpensive Free Night Award, and work toward elite qualification toward Marriott Forest Fear status.

If you are interested in taking advantage of the limited time promotion, be sure to book your accommodation by June 22, 2022, and complete it before December 31, 2022.

Since October 30, 2021, Canada has forced anyone on board a flight, train or cruise ship within the country to present proof of immunization.

This requirement will be lifted for planes and trains starting June 20, 2022, which means Canadians will soon be allowed to travel in and out of the country without any COVID-19 vaccine or testing.

Internal travel returns to normal

The Government of Canada has made this announcement June 20, 2022, Passengers no longer have to show proof of vaccination before their flight, train or cruise.

Currently, all travelers to Canada must provide proof of immunization to the airline or travel operator before departure, except for excluded private and medical evacuation flights.

In addition, this requirement currently applies to international flights originating in Canada, effectively meaning that you must be fully vaccinated before leaving the country.

Vaccine requirements Upcoming lifting means that non-vaccinated passengers will now be able to board flights and other modes of transport as usual, while those of us who have been vaccinated all the time will also enjoy a smoother ride by checking fewer documents along the way.

The only exception is cruise ships – due to the nature of close communication and the extended duration of the cruise, proof of vaccination will still be required to board a cruise departing from a Canadian port of call.

The removal of the vaccine requirement for planes and trains has been described as a “suspension” of the policy, with the government warning that COVID-19 could be withdrawn if the situation worsens.

What’s left of Canada’s travel ban?

Canada’s once-strict travel bans have largely been lifted, with only a few entry policies at the border remaining to be considered:

  • Foreigners must be fully vaccinated to enter the country
  • Returning Canadian citizens must be fully vaccinated prior to arrival for testing, day 1 and 8 day testing and mandatory 14-day quarantine bypass

In terms of domestic travel within Canada, things have practically returned to how they were pre-epidemic, with the only exception being the need for masks on planes and trains for the time being.

It’s tempting to think that the heavy-handed travel restrictions of the epidemic era are really over, and I sincerely hope that stability will be maintained between the autumn and winter of 2022, when we see new forms. Pop up over the years.

Random airport tests temporarily suspended

Regarding COVID-19 policies, it is also worth noting that random testing for fully vaccinated travelers upon arrival at a Canadian airport will be suspended until June 30, 2022, after which it will be removed from the airport grounds.

Of course, it’s no secret that traffic congestion at Canadian airports (as well as at airports around the world, rightly so) has risen to record levels, so postponing random checks on arrival should make congestion a little easier.

After June 30, random testing on arrival and compulsory testing for non-vaccinated travelers will continue in an off-site location.

There are some unanswered questions about where the test will be conducted and whether the burden of travel costs will be borne by the traveler, but regardless, it promises to be a less chaotic solution than temporary test booths at Canadian airports. Space and arrival process delayed.

As June 20, 2022, Evidence of vaccination will no longer be mandatory for all domestic air and rail travel within the country, as well as for flights departing from Canada.

This latest change marks the end of the COVID-19 travel ban for domestic travel, which makes Canada compatible with most parts of the world in terms of ease of travel within our own borders.

With less document checks required on our journeys and random testing on arrival, the traffic congestion at Canadian airports is expected to be somewhat less before the much-anticipated summer travel season.

Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan is a popular program in Canada that sells co-branded MBNA credit cards, great deals on redemption and frequent mileage sales.

With their current sales, you can earn up to 50% bonus miles on your purchases. This is up to the sale June 252022, So don’t forget to invest first if you are interested.

Buy Alaska Miles with 50% Bonus

Typically, Alaska Airlines sells for 2.75 (USD) cents per mile, and a 7.5% tax recovery fee, totaling 2.96 (USD) cents per mile. Fortunately, Alaska often offers discounts on mile purchases.

Alaska is known for running targeted “mystery bonuses”. Looks like the best available offer Bonus up to 50% per purchase mile, Structural like this:

  • 50% bonus When you buy 30,000-100,000 miles
  • 40% bonus When you buy 15,000-29,000 miles
  • 30% bonus When you buy 3,000-14,000 miles

My own offer is quite low, with a maximum 30% bonus. Log in with your Mileage Plan account to see the exact breakdown of your bonus.

With a 50% bonus, You can buy 160,000 Alaska miles at a cost of $ 2,956, including taxes 1.97 US cents per mile.

At our current assessment 1.8 US cents per mileIf you have a specific use in mind, that price is decently competitive.

Historically, Alaska has offered bonuses in the range of 35% to 60%, although we have seen rare offers up to 70%. If you are thinking of buying Alaska Miles, 50% is a good rate to buy, although it may be worth waiting until the 60% bonus pops up.

How many miles can you buy?

If Alaska doesn’t have your elite status, each Mileage Plan member is limited to receiving 150,000 miles per year from mileage purchases, buy for yourself or receive a gift from someone else.

This limit only applies to base miles, although there is a limit of 100,000 base miles per transaction. If you split your purchase into multiple transactions, you can buy up to 225,000 miles With a 50% bonus, I assume you haven’t already bought or received the Alaska Mile this year.

Which credit card should you use to buy Alaska Miles?

Mileage Plan sells miles through Points.com. Since you are not buying directly from Alaska Airlines, you will not receive any bonus points for using Alaska Airlines credit cards.

The purchase will not code as a trip for the category accelerator. Instead, you can consider any card with a high base income rate, or where you are working to meet the minimum spending requirements.

Purchase will be charged USD. To avoid additional costs, you should use a US credit card.

If you use a card with a Canadian billing address, you will be charged GST / HST on top of the tax recovery fee, so even if you have a Canadian card without any foreign transaction fees, I would recommend using it as a last resort.

Who should buy Alaska Miles?

If you’re looking for a quick redemption, buying miles can be a great way to top up your account.

Booking an expensive ambitious flight

I should note that there is some uncertainty surrounding the future value of the Alaska Mileage Plan.

Since joining Alaska Oneworld in March 2021, they have been slowly creating new partner charts for Qatar Airways, Iberia and Royal Air Maroc, and they have also promised that any changes to the existing award chart would be announced with at least 90 days notice.

With that in mind, the Alaska Awards Chart continues to offer some spectacular rates on fine first-class cabins.

Some examples from Canada or the United States include Cathay Pacific First Class for a 70,000 mile one-way with a stopover in Hong Kong, or Japan Airlines First Class for a 70,000 mile one-way with a stopover in Tokyo.

Compared to the exorbitant cash price, prize tickets can be booked for an absolutely wild price. 70,000 Alaska miles 1.8 (USD) cents worth US $ 1,260 Compare this to the US $ 11,563 cash prize for Cathay First Class, and you see the dictionary definition of outsize rewards!

Looking the other way, this redemption would be worth it 16.5 (USD) cents per mileMore than 15 times the baseline value of a mile – and this is before considering the option of adding a stopover at no extra cost.

At this rate, buying miles would make sense if you had a specific high-cost redemption plan. Buying at about 2 cents per mile sounds steep, but not when you are confident that the price will exceed many times the cost.

Even if you start from scratch and need to buy all the miles required for this ticket, the mileage with 50% promotion will cost US $ 1,379 including fee – a very slight premium above their baseline value, and a no-brainer compared to a revenue fare.

Of course, this only makes sense if you can find a place to reward. Although they can be booked online on Alaska search engines, it can be difficult to snatch first-class JAL prizes because they are notoriously popular.

Meanwhile, the Cathay Pacific First Class Awards seem to be available in North America and Asia, but need to be booked over the phone.

I would recommend that you align your seats before you pull the trigger to buy points.

Quick top-up for upcoming redemption

If you have identified a good opportunity to redeem your Alaska Miles at the price of your choice, but your account is shy of the amount you need, you may find it tasty to pay above the baseline price to make a difference.

Until you redeem above the cost of 1.97 cents per mile (USD) to purchase through this promotion, you will continue.

Even if you redeem at low cost, it can still be valuable. After all, your miles are useless if you don’t have enough to book your will. If most of your miles are earned at a very low cost, you can still get a good price for the average cost of your miles, even with a small premium for the instant gratification of buying a small mileage.

However, in general, if I’m a little short on a one-point program for a low-end redemption, I’d first like to book with other programs that can offer a good deal or even cash. In case of less urgency, I am happy to continue the collection until it is sufficient to redeem at the price of my good choice.

Cathay Pacific First Class

Other Ways to Earn Alaska Miles

Before rushing to buy miles at promotional rates, I’ll first look at other low-cost sources, if you don’t need miles immediately for your booking.

Canadian credit card by MBNA

Initially, Alaska Miles MBNA can be earned with a welcome bonus from Alaska Airlines World Elite MasterCard 30,000 miles To spend $ 1,000 in the first three months.

The lower-income variant of the card, MBNA Alaska Airlines Platinum Plus MasterCard, offers 20,000 miles with the same cost requirements and you can’t hold both cards at once.

At an annual fee of $ 99, the World Elite Card represents a purchase of 31,000 Alaska miles at 0.32 (CAD) cents per mile, or approx. 0.25 US cents per mile. Definitely cheaper than buying direct miles, though a much slower way to accumulate a large balance.

Also, you can sometimes find offers from MBNA with a -2 100-200 statement credit, which is enough to offset the annual fee.

MBNA Alaska Airlines MasterCard

US credit card by Bank of America

If you have a Social Security number, you can also apply for Bank of America co-branded cards. The Alaska Airlines Visa Signature And Alaska Airlines Visa Business Both offers 40,000 miles The first three months cost US $ 2,000.

Both cards have frequent credits equivalent to first year fee rebates and occasional enhanced point offers. Otherwise, at an annual fee of $ 75, the cost of earning points 0.18 US cents per mile.

Marriott Forest Fear

Marriott Forest Fear Points can be transferred to the Alaska Mileage Plan in a 3: 1 ratio, with a 5,000 mile bonus if transferred to 60,000 Fear Point points.

Our current price is 0.7 US cents per point, 60,000 forest fear points cost US $ 420. When transferred to the Alaska Mileage Plan, it is equivalent to buying 25,000 miles 1.68 US cents per mile.

It’s still lower than the Baseline Alaska Redemption standard of 1.8 US cents per mile and cheaper than the promotional cost of buying miles directly. Depending on your wildlife balance and hotel redemption goals, you may want to consider whether this is a better choice than paying cash for Alaska Miles.

Mileage plan shopping

You can also visit the Mileage Plan shopping portal for bonuses on online shopping from many popular global retailers ranging from technology to sportswear companies. High bonuses are often found on big shopping days like Black Friday or Boxing Day.

In my experience, miles usually arrive within two weeks, although many stores have restrictions for shopping outside the United States.

Alaska Mileage Plan Miles Shopping 50% Bonus Promotion is a great opportunity to push your balance for a dream trip. Be sure to take advantage in advance June 25, 2022 To make the most of this offer.

Fortunately, even after joining the Oneworld Alliance, Alaska has confirmed that their Rewards Chart will offer their current unique Sweet Spots for the time being and that they will provide at least 90 days’ notice for any changes to their Redemption Chart.

If there is an announcement in the coming months about any upcoming changes to the Alaska Flight Rewards, you will still have time to redeem the points you have purchased under this promotion and click on one last sweet spot.

That said, if you don’t have a specific redemption in mind, you may prefer to go slower by focusing on credit card bonuses and transfers, and wait for the next point sale if any future purchases make sense.
